Thread: The Cradle of the Human Race Was at the North Pole

I have number of books and articles on that subject, but I don't want to post everything at once, so let's start with this book first:

I intend to confine myself only to the Vedic literature and show that if we read some of the passages in the Vedas, which have hitherto been considered incomprehensible, in the light of the new scientific discoveries we are forced to the conclusion that the home of the ancestors of the Vedic people was somewhere near the North Pole before the last Glacial epoch."

Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak (Marathi: बाळ गंगाधर टिळक) (July 23, 1856 - August 1, 1920), was an Indian nationalist, social reformer and independence fighter who was the first popular leader of the Indian Independence Movement and is known as "Father of the Indian unrest." Tilak was one of the first and strongest proponents for Swaraj ( complete independence) in Indian consciousness, and is considered the father of Hindu nationalism as well. His famous quote, "Swaraj is my birthright, and I will have it!" is well-remembered in India even today.

By the way, the author of this book was not just from India, he was an Indian nationalist which makes this book especially credible.

Books like this are like fly paper for idiots. What's especially frightening is that there are whackos who believe this crapola.

I guess they were Mere-People, since the North Pole is open ocean in the absence of ice.

There was no ocean at the North Pole back then.

It does? Why?

I might well read this book out of curiousity, but I'm afraid I'm going to accept the vast prepronderance of archaeological and genetic evidence for an African origin for humanity, rather than a speculative book written over a hundred years ago postulating metaphors for arctic climate in the Rig Vedas.

I don't understand this desire to prove everything important comes from where you're from. If it turns out that the earliest humans lived in a crappy mining town just outside Yorkshire I'd be quite surprised, but it wouldn't make me a special person.

Is there some reason the Indian writing this book doesn't want to be descended from Africans and insists he's descended from white people instead?
