Who Was the Most Barbaric Leader Ever?

Hitler? Stalin? Mao? Pol Pot? Pinoche? Saddam Hussein?

My vote goes to Genghis Khan..What took the above years to acheive (possibly wrong choice of word here) it took Genghis Khan's people days possibly hours..
I have been reading Genghis Khan Life, Death, and Resurrection by John Man,,I love a happy story with a happy ending..In the city of Merv once in modern day Turkmenistan his guard of 7000 despatched an estimated 1.3 million people in days possibly hours by slitting their throats..On top of the 1.2 million that were killed in Urgench in Uzbekistan a few months prior..

Holy bloody Hell!!Genghis Khan made those guys look like Boy Scouts..

The Khans in general probably take the cake, followed by the Communists. Oliver Cromwell is also up there, along with Vlad the Impaler.

Stalin off'd 55,000,000 including Ukranians, and Gulag Guests. Mao killed 30,000,000 in his cultural revolution. Pol Pot 2,000,000. Hitler 12,000,000 in genocides alone.

It was Stalin, he was brutal, sadistic, an abused child, paranoid, and apparently quite homicidal. Not one single redeaming quality, he nearly lost the war for Russia through paranoid purges and psychotic childish decisions. If Hitler wasn't insaner, Russians would be speaking German today and maybe the Brits too.

I don't think there were even 55,000,000 people in the world in Genghis Khans time so comparison is different. But Genghis Khan gets points for pioneering the modern structure of the mafia. They would leave conquered lands in tact to extract tribute whenever they rode through. They had little protection racket routes. Very innovative
