Keep telling yourself that. Didn't work in 2006 and it's not going to work now lol

I wouldn't defend this idiot..."I'm not worried about the constitution"...geeze what a moron. He'll probably lose his seat this November, and smart Democrats will distance themselves from him.
Having said that...since when does one idiot's opinion/gaffe mean that the entire Democratic party is "screwed"?
"Leave the matter of religion to the family altar, the church, and the private school, supported entirely by private contributions. Keep the church and state forever separate."........Ulysses S Grant.
"The Fox News channel is heavilly outnumbered by the forces of evil in the media".......Bill O'Reilly 1/13/11.

It doesn't. It's the daily gaffe that puts the liberals in such a bad position. They keep saying stupid shit. They keep sounding arrogant and elitist and totally out of touch. One by one, they are digging their own graves. Don't get me wrong, the Republicans can screw up an election... no problem. Maybe their "best" candidates have molested young boys, maybe they hate black people, or have introduced legislation to plant minefields along our Southern Border. Maybe they think abortion doctors should be killed and their families tattooed with "Baby Killer". Who knows what kind of crazy nonsense they can give us before November. Right now, however, they are looking primed to kick some serious Democrat butt. With one exception, (Democrat Mike McIntyre), I'll probably end up just voting for Republicans in November, just to show the Democrats the door.
The congressman was pretty unimpressive in this, but he didn't say he didn't care about the Constitution. He said "I don't worry about the constitution on this one." He should have just told these people - "How about the commerce clause, I don't worry about the constitution on this one for good reason - the courts will easily uphold an individual mandate under congresses commerce clause authority. I didn't hear you complaining about the big bad individual mandate (which is a necessity for the private insurance companies) when it was the Republican plan in the 90's!"
Quote mining gets really tiresome.

Uh - I've been consistent on this one. I don't give a crap which party is trying to expand government into unconstitutional areas. I oppose it.

Good for you, I never stated otherwise. Do you remember the same opposition to the concept of a mandate when it was put forward in the 90's by the Republicans?
I oppose quote mining, hypocrisy, and unfounded constitutional complaints.

Admittedly, I was only 13 or 14 during the debates in the 90s, and at that time I didn't understand why the government allowed private enterprise to monopolize the health care industry. I was under the opinion that a universal health care system should have been implemented, funded by huge taxes on US Corporations, which they could afford with all the money they'd save not having to use Health Care benefits as a means of attracting talent. But I was a silly little Marxist in those days. Like I said, 13 or 14. How bright could I have been?
And I think a majority of Democrats would agree, that when it comes to providing services and aid to the American People who need it, they don't really care about the Constitution.

Again, this isn't personal. I was a lot younger than that during the 90's debate. My point should be obvious - you didn't have to be there to know that there wasn't such organized and collective disgust at the idea of a mandate in the 90's in large part because it was a republican plan and there was less hysteria about socialism and government. Unfortunately, this probably has some truth to it - one of the MANY reasons I don't consider myself a democrat.

From what I have seen over the last little while, this ass speaks for the majority of the party, and for the right as well. Hell the constitution is just a goddamn piece of paper, right??!!
