It's funny, but the forum I saw this posted on, conservatives think this guy is full of shit. Interesting take on the idea of public servants as "heroes".

I guess if you're a troop and you answer that question in a self aggrandizing manner, it's all good because killing people is hero-worthy, teaching kids - not so much anymore. Police and fire pretty close to being right up with the dog catcher in the opinions of a lot of people on the right too. Sponges, moochers, fat, lazy, overpaid parasites.

What a shame.

I want to hear Lloyd Blankfein asked this question and forced to give an honest answer.

A neighbor, retired teacher tells me through the course of a few years "well look at the gene pool we have to work with - our best students are reflection of ourselves, we can't help all of them - we expect some to be left behind, can't waste time working with a student likely will never make it in life"

I know there are some dedictated well rounded teachers out there, there are also a bunch of shit heads calling themselves teacher, they should not be in the same room with students.

I once worked for a very wise man who believed everybody was good at something. And if you could just figure out what that one thing was you could be successful and happy in life.

I think a lot of kids dubbed "losers" by our cookie cutter education system are just not able to find that one thing they do well.

It's amazing the lack of respect teachers get from some conservatives, given that the same group pushes our living wages down so that two parents HAVE to work, making teachers pretty much the most important adults in kids' lives.
