    Man, I'm getting old. I was really into Rush when I was a kid.

    As a drummer, I idolized Peart. Used to cover Tom Sawyer also.

    Any Rush show is a great show, and Colbert does get some really good acts.

    In September, my buddy's Rush tribute band debuted at a local club. He's the guitarist, and he and I have been in bands together off and on going all the way back to 1978. The band is called Rash.

    There was a pic somewhere, I wish I saved it. It was "my first drum set" and had a basic 5pc set. Then a shot of "my second drum set" which was a 20pc set with every auxiliary item imaginable. Then "my third drum set" which was a basic 5pc set.

    I never got into huge sets, they're a pain in the ass to lug to gigs. Sharing the other bands drummers kit was a bonus - I hated lugging my shit around.

    I'm not in a band anymore, retired a few years back but here was my studio kit in our old practice spot:
