Saw this reading the news this morning, here are the two utub clips:

Very civil, a touch of wit, definitely an honest discourse.

The most important point in the whole discussion was the need for TV and cable news to properly label its contents. And Jon was absolutely right in his criticism of Fox on that subject. News should be about reporting and opinion is something else entirely.
"“Guess what women are taking about? I don’t care if they’re stay-at-home mothers or working mothers or grandmothers. They’re talking about jobs and the legacy of debt that we are leaving our children.” Ann Romney
"Any woman who understands the problems of running a home will be nearer to understanding the problems of running a country." - Margaret Thatcher
I don't really agree with that because, like O'Reilly said, news organizations contain editorial publications; it's up to the viewer to distinguish which is which.
Granted that I don't like deceptive practices like these debt relief infomercials that have been coming out with newsy graphics about the bailouts, but Fox doesn't engage in those kinds of wise guy tactics. It's very easy to realize that Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, and a lot of their weekend shows are opinion programs.
That said, I also don't agree with the concept that Fox News should be despised for pushing forward an agenda because News Corp is chartered in Delaware and is publicly traded within the United States. Yes, it would be a shame if foreigners dominated control of a news organization with substantial political clout (such as how Murdoch was at first an Australian citizen), but as a political economic matter, responsible citizens of a country should be able to competitively afford the equity of the organizations in its markets. Otherwise, it would be evident that their lifestyles are not optimal and that foreigners understand domestic culture better than natives do.

I think Chris Wallace is one of the best anchors on television. The Sunday morning fox news show is as good or better than most of what's out there. But the cable network is mostly opinion. Calling it News is inaccurate, but they call it News because news sells as a label. My favorite shows on the Fox cable outlet are Fox News Watch and Cavuto's show.

Wallace can be good but often isn't and we don't share the same opinion on Cavuto, but Fox News Watch is a great show.
Take me home Momma and put me to bed. I have seen enough to know I have seen too much.
