This is what was reported by channel 10 (KTEN) in Denison, TX today.
It's really discouraging. I guess we might as well pull the plug on Veteran's Day as a holiday when the subject (himself a Veteran) didn't know any better than this and neither did the reporter, the editor or the news room boss.
"Veterans Day is always observed on November 11th, regardless of the day of the week on which it falls. Korean and Vietnam Veteran, Chester Ball, explains why. "It started in World War II when they had Armed Missiles Day when the war, World War II was over they signed a treaty on 11th month of the 11th day at 11:00."
