No you can’t discriminate against race or sex which is a good thing. But if say a gang (whatever quote race) had been in his store before, showed disrespect and he recognized them he has every right not to allow them in. He wouldn’t know if they were true skinheads if he hadn’t had problems beforehand. A store owner should have the right to decide. It’s their life and supplies in jeopardy. Not letting them in is not discriminatory or being a bigot. But to be honest people like this if you don’t let them in regardless they will claim no matter what they did in the past it’s all about race. Just look at the illegals they claim this too even though they are breaking the law. I would say the majority of Americans that run stores are not racist and would be glad to see a person come in to buy from them but not at all cost.

The Meadowlands case was the first case of its kind -- a club member claiming that her private club had discriminated against her because of her gender -- to be brought under the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act (the "PHRA"), which is the Pennsylvania equivalent to federal anti-discrimination statutes. The PHRA prohibits discrimination against individuals based on certain protected characteristics including race, color, religious creed and sex.
Cases brought under the PHRA typically involve an employee suing his or her employer for alleged discrimination in the workplace. The PHRA also applies, however, to discriminatory denial of access to "places of public accommodation." The club member, obviously not a Meadowland's employee, would have had to prove that, despite the club's "private" status, it was, in fact, a "place of public accommodation" and that, as such, the club acted in a way that illegally discriminated against her based upon her gender.
So, it would seem that if a club was demonstrated to not be a a place of public accomodation, that discrimination could occur. *shrug*

They aren't run the same because they have certain internal rules, and those, by law have to be followed. You may not exclude due to race or gender however, that is federal. Some clubs do however, and nothing is said. As far as I am concerned, all should be able allow or exclude whom they feel.
For I am the all powerful michaelr, bow....bow now!!!
