Sanctuary city policies and amnesties aren't created for law abiding
citizens, they are specifically pushed forward to help illegals circumvent
immigration law. They get preferential treatment from the media who
try to cast them as victims of this situation when they broke the law
to get here. They get preferential treatment when the media demonizes
people who want our laws enforced. They get preferential treatment
when the President has Arizona sued for enforcing what if fundamentally
Federal law.

ok we give em that, no state or police , sherriff or highway patrol no longer is allowed to interfere or help in a federal crime,

that road goes two ways

In this thread and the other thread, we've got one clown who's telling me the DHS deports a million illegals a year, which is so fucking laughable as to be unworthy of further comment, and we've got another guy who's getting on my case for being a racist while he's slinging around words like "whitey" all over his posts. My country is being overrun by stupid people!!! And you can see the results, we're entirely fucking broke, the federal government is making excuses for not enforcing the law (primarily because they can't afford to, it seems), and the Fed has just "downgraded" our economic outlook for the next 9 months citing "fears of the impending double dip recession" (their words, not mine).

And now, to top it all off, we've got this bullshit "newspeak" where torture isn't torture, deportations require proof of "intent", and states and locals can't enforce federal laws even though they've been doing it each and every single day since the moment I was born.

i've heard this from a few people. that the federal immigration laws are "not being enforced". so how EXACTLY are they not being enforced?

I think most people saying no laws enforced is more or less indicative to the level of frustration people feel over an issue that is both out of control and at the same time, undermanned, inefficient, selective.

Its pretty common that hot button issues such as this one can get people very upset, possibly speaking in absolutes, but it still doesn't invalidate the issue, which is important. I believe this issue of immigration in this country is important enough to speak with smart, average and stupid people alike even if they don't understand the first, second or third time. I also believe there is no reason to let it divide citizen of this nation. It is an issue we can overcome but going after each other certainly isn't going to solve anything.
