This is a good example of what the Pinks and so forth are trying to do. They want to be able to dictate what we say in Church. We have freedom OF Religion and the only ones hating is your little group. You will never be satisfied with equal rights that’s not the purpose of this fight. You want to change and flaunt your ideas in the Churches.

If it was only about equal rights it would have been passed a long time ago.
Perhaps you didn't lie and your memory is as bad as your theological research.

No one cares what you believe, it's when you call for the deaths of others or you disenfranchise others who you consider to be sinners that we have trouble. Your holy book calls for a lot of people's deaths for various sins, but funny thing it's only the scriptures about gay people that get any air play. If a preacher calls for the deaths of gay people in church then he is commiting a hate crime--he can believe that but he can't call for it to happen.

It is about rights and as long as you fundie crazies don't persecute us or call for our deaths then we don't care what you believe.

The student, Jennifer Keeton, 24, has been pursuing a master's degree in school counseling at Augusta State University since 2009, but school officials have informed her that she'll be dismissed from the program unless she alters her "central religious beliefs on human nature and conduct," according to a civil complaint filed last week.

"[Augusta State University] faculty have promised to expel Miss Keeton from the graduate Counselor Education Program not because of poor academic showing or demonstrated deficiencies in clinical performance, but simply because she has communicated both inside and outside the classroom

that she holds to Christian ethical convictions on matters of human sexuality and gender identity," the 43-page lawsuit

Keeton, according to the lawsuit, was informed by school officials in late May that she would be asked to take part in a remediation plan due to faculty concerns regarding her beliefs pertaining to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues.
"The faculty identifies Miss Keeton's views as indicative of her improper important professional disposition to persons of such populations," the lawsuit reads.
    reads.
How far do we go with catering to myths and taboos of religion? Right now there is an Oregon City couple who are being charged for neglect of their 7 month old daughter because they refuse her medical care for a growth the size of a tennis ball over one of her eyes. They have "annoited" it with oil but it's growing bigger all the time. The baby has been taken into protective custody.

So the state owns our children. Glad it's official.

Here's an informative and thoughtful fit of fiction (written by an enlightened atheist) on the subject:

On one hand you seem to feel that the government should own all fetuses and have the right to protect them, why not protect the born fetuses too. Would you rather the girl receive no treatment? Is that how you treated your children?

I would rather the parents be enlightened. I would rather the state be enlightened as well. Starting an academic program that that does not recognize the importance of the view of millions of potential students is idiotic and self important.

Having said that how far do we go in letting the state impose its own morality on a public that has not approved of ITS religion?

The state does not even recognize it has a religion and that it is imposing it. You expect me to trust it to do the right thing? Every time we let the state take more and more control, we are edging closer to letting them tell us how to think and how to believe on a wide variety of subjects.

The extreme case you have provided doesn't even touch the vital underlying topic of the liberty of conscience.
