The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

But I bet you got the error much quicker than on the older server. I bet now we can get our errors almost in real time.

Technology has become sales driven, hence it's reduction in practical usefulness.

When was it not? ALL business is sales driven.

    Sort of.

When technology is needs driven, it works. When it becomes sales driven, it stops working.

I didn't realize that computers have stopped working.

It is the prime function of any business, with out sales for your product or service you don't exist.

Who said technology only exists with sales?

To be accurate, most technology begins outside of industry which is why many technology programs are federally or privately funded. Once that technology is developed, it may lead to sales, it may lead to other non-industrial programs.

Once certain technology becomes sales based, it no longer is technology in a sense but a product. Marketing takes over here and puts lipstick on it and changes it needlessly so you have to buy upgraded versions, makes it more complicated so you have to buy more shit to figure it out and "integrates" it with more shit you have to buy.

I'm the kind of person that doesn't want to fuck around with something endlessly. I want to buy it and start using it. Used to be that way, not any more. Simple tasks have become endless seas of options, problems, compatibility issues. I don't need the latest and greatest - that's for people who like to buy toys. I need shit that works, is easy to figure out and use and works continuously.

I have more productive things to do and "technology" fails me in this aspect.

I couldn't agree with you more.....they were saying A.I. wouldnt surpass us until like 2025 or something like that. Now the prediction is possibly 2015. Soon everything will be voice command....lights on, computer on, computer set room tempurature, computer load this look for that etc etc.

Just look at cars nowadays.....all electric windows etc etc.....get into a flood or go under water nothing electrical is working. Use to just have windows you use to roll up or down manually. One could always get out. Not today. Not to mention more and more new vehicles will not even have roll up windows.

It's like using the phone nowdays too....use to be you could talk to someone. Now it's.....If you speak Spanish press number one. If you speak English stay on the line. Then its Press 1 for this 2 for that 3 if you want this 4 for billing, etc etc.....I don't want to be on the phone for 15 to 20 mins and then find out they are going to have a live person talk to me. I do not want to be on any phone for 30mins or more. I want to get it done.....I got more shit to do and no time to waste.

Already it is work just finding free time or making free time.

True artificial intelligence is not going to show up in or near 2015. We have yet to develop an AI that is as intelligent and communicative as a five year-old human child, much less one capable of designing the next-generation of AI.
