You are right. Majority, whether in science or in politics, cannot determine whether said thing is truth. For example, 75% Americans in 2003 believed that Iraq war was justified. But it was not true. Or non-forgettable Lavoisier’s citation “Stones cannot fall from the sky, because there are no stones in the sky”, to which French Academy of Sciences applauded!

So, you are completely right: votes of leftist majority cannot prove that global warming was man made.

Of course the majority isn't always right, and I never said it is. The scientific community is basing its opinion on best-research evidence. Thus, I trust the majority of them.

The "rightwingnut" opinion tactic is often to discredit any scientists that disagree. Creationists also claim the majority of scientists are wrong about evolution. Scientists are no more wrong about the trend of global warming than they are about evolution.

I will trust the opinions of climatologists in this case instead of the right-wingnut conspiracy about scientists all being in collaboration with one another lying to the public. That's just absurd.

Opponents of global warming are simply wrong and, more maliciously, lying. Again, this is due to economic reasons, since none of their evidence supports their claims. It's purely willful ignorance.

Right on. Anyone care to provide us all with some scientific research not funded by the CATO institute or Exxon to discredit global warming?

Enlighten me as to why 4% of peer reviewed articles disagree with global warming, while about 50% of journalist's articles and American politicians disagree with global warming? I suppose they know more about this issue than scientists? I dont know about you, but when my car acts funny, I dont go to a mechanic who has been studying cars and working on them, I go to McDonalds to check my car out, just because their news is usally easier to take.

Petrol companies are offering a 10K dollar bribe (oops, I mean offer) to any scientist willing to "disprove" the IPCC study.

It's a lot like how cig. companies bought results that told consumers Cigs were healthy for you and didn't cause cancer.

True science does not make the leap from theory to fact so easily. Man made global warming is a reasonable theory. Global warming is a fact as it has been measured. Global cooling was a fact in the seventies as it was also measured.
