A joke in poor taste isn't racism. If Chris Rock states that if you want to hide your money from certain African-Americans, then you should hide it in your books, is he a racist? Stating that a present behavior will likely lead to a future outcome isn't racist either.

Racism has to do with believing certain groups are inferior. If you say a single mother is likely to be poor and need government assistance, that is true. If the person you are saying it to is white in one instance and black in another, it doesn't become racism in the latter example.

You really are confused about the term. It's historically a term used by blacks to insult other blacks who are acting "too white". Sort of a tasteless cheap shot....
