Do I get to make the Righty argument that out of control government regulation in America makes labor intensive industries suffer in competitiveness?

I suppose you can, but you'd have to show how that would make a difference. The problem is that countries where many people live on $2/day (about 40% of the world's population), it's not hard to find people willing to work for much less than Americans can reasonably afford to work. How will less regulation make up for the vast difference in labor costs?

    We have to go upscale.
Even when alternative views are clearly wrong, being exposed to them still expands our creative potential. In a way, the power of dissent is the power of surprise. After hearing someone shout out an errant answer, we work to understand it, which causes us to reassess our initial assumptions and try out new perspectives. “Authentic dissent can be difficult, but it’s always invigorating,” Nemeth says.

Well then, maybe said labor intensive industries ought to redirect their efforts.

    Ya think?

This whole "too big to fail" mentality is very dangerous. We can not afford to be propping up our failing corporations "just because" they're "providing" someone with a job.

The better thing to do, would be to help 'em go out of business as quickly as possible, so they can reorganize and start hiring people again. That's how it's done. "Too big to fail" is brain-dead.

That's exactly what I was thinking when the government took over Chrysler and GM. Hell, Chrysler should have gone by the wayside long ago.

None of the above. They don't like paying for shit, even shit they like. So they come up with retarded "ideas" that by eliminating shit they don't like then they won't have to pay for anything, including shit they like.

True. Look at the screen incident. Apple claimed it would of taken them 9 months(?) to find the engineers they needed to fix their screens. It took like 2 weeks(?) in China. And also take into account these people were living in dorms, working around the clock to fix the phones. Not going to happen in America.

The GOP is out of control. Problem for us Dems is they know it, and they know they do not have a candidate. Palin and Perry are already talking about a brokered convention. Wouldn't surprise me to see them draft someone like Jeb Bush at a brokered convention. Last poll I saw 52% of Republicans were saying "find someone besides who is running for president now." I think Republicans know they do not have a winner in their hand yet.

So the next best thing is for the GOP to retake the Senate and bolster their majority in the House. This way, the Democrats can be put on a very tight leash.

You have just proven you are divorced from reality.

No as a commission to determine the cause of the Great Recession concluded De-regulation and lack of oversight caused it. If anything we need more regulations.
