"after 9/11 bush was polling around 90 percent. that means the vast majority of democrats and independents put partisanship aside and threw in their lot with the country and her president, and it was only after years of bush's abject failure that this support began to erode.
i've yet to see any evidence this move is even in the republican playbook. obama's got a D on his helmet so republicans want to see him sacked. period." Highway234

I think Romney and Bachmann did themselves the most good.
No winner. No one said anything to make me believe they could do a better job than Obama has.

Paul hands down. But that wasn't much of a debate.
Right. Left. Right. Left. I will rape your personality. Pummel you with my own philosophy. Strip you of your self-integrity. To make you all just a bit like me. I said right, left.

People are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

All I heard was the same things the Republicans have been talking about for years and years. We tried low taxes and de-regulation and free trade and look where we are now. How anyone could vote for a Republican at this point is beyond me. Of course, the Democrats aren't covering themselves in glory, either. They've almost completely abandoned the basic Democratic economic ideals that brought about the greatest economic expansion the world had ever known that reduced poverty, grew the middle class to epic proportions and helped the wealthy to grow also. So I'd say the American people certainly didn't win last night.

I watched some of it... a few things stood out to me.
RP had what seemed to be the most honest answers.
Cain and Bachmann... both terrible. Neither one of them appeared to me to be particularly knowledgeable, and it seemed on several questions they were picking up on what others had said, and running with that.
Pawlenty at one point of the debate said "I think Governor Palin is a remarkable leader. I think she's qualified to be president of the United States." ... so there goes any possibility of him having my support.
