LOL.
Time until someone says "Yes, it is" 10...9....8....7...

Close enough. 12 minutes is a bit long, but I'll take it.
Considering the alternative, I favor taking the risk on wrecking the economically. Given everything I've seen and heard on the issue, that's highly unlikely. What we are really talking about is the question "What if the scientists are wrong and we took a profit loss for nothing?"

The scientists have detected a problem. Global warming is a fact. What isn't fact is the cause. Is it purely natural or is mankind making it worse. If the latter, how much worse?
You were a sailor. If the Navy said a batch of ice cream may be contaminated with poison do you eat it until it's proven to be poisonous or do you take precautionary action until you are sure?

The temperature has, as best we know, risen by an average of 1.8 deg. fahrenheit in the last century, assuming our measurments are correct. This on a planet that has seen huge swings in temperature. You are aware the antartic was once warm enough to support vegitation and dinosaurs aren't you? You would also know most of north america and europe was once under an ice sheet hundreds of feet thick. All this before we managed to produce a single car. Remarkable when you think about it.
My adoptive father's parents lived thru the great depression in the ozark mountains. They were subsistance farmers. My father, as a small boy, hunted and fished for food. My grandfather raised corn to make whisky for cash. He also worked whenever possible. It wasn't possible much of the time. They lived in an honest to god shack made up of one inch boards covered with tar paper and a tin roof. They were still living in that shack in the 1960's when I used to stay with them in the summer. No, they had no indoor plumbing. They used bedpans and an outhouse. They were better off than my mother's people, my blood kin, because they actually owned the land they occupied. My mother's people never owned a house they lived in. They live in rented shacks, until my uncle bought a place, with a shack, for them to occupy the last five years of their lives.
We're only a couple of three generations away from that point now. Much of the rest of the world lives that way now, if they're lucky. It's just something to keep in mind when considering just what should be done about that 1.8 deg. average temperature raise that might or might not be as a result of human activity.
When I was in the navy they might have simply fed it to us. I remember being in the brig one time with a young man who pissed in the bug juice. It was found out after the fact. While the mess guys didn't knowingly give us that stuff on purpose they all thought it was a big joke. So, no, don't try to use the military to make any points with me. I loved the sea, the navy.....not so much. You were a sailor. Maxine Waters told me to go to straight to hell. Doesn't anyone listen to Obama anymore?
Dude, I'm not a rocket scientist so I'm not going to argue it with you. If you don't want to accept the science, then feel free to join the ranks of Creationists, Peaceniks and anyone else who doesn't want to accept hard core reality in place of a personal, unsubstantiated viewpoint.
Since I'm not a rocket scientist, I will accept the information of those that are:

NASA? Government cash cow? Money stolen from hardworking men and women at gun point, at threat of jail, and given to these liberal do-gooders with their massive government projects.
hahahah nice source. No siree. We'll stick with World Net Daily or whatever the hell it's called.
