The way I've been doing it is to go to the image online, click on "view image info", copy the highlighted line, then come back here, type [IMG] [/IMG], and paste the line I've copied between them.

Uploading from my computer, I've been using a hosting site.

Maybe Mertex knows a better way. What do I have to uncheck? Let's try that.

After you click on the "tree" icon, you get a pop-up that has this on it -From Computer from URL (and some other stuff).

So click on the "From URL" and a new pop-up will appear.

Next, click on the little box that has a checkmark (to uncheck it).

Past your picture's address (url) in the box that says URL.

Then click on the bottom "OK" (you can cancel it or you can OK it).

That's the way I do it.

This was the URL from wherever you found the picture. That is what you paste in the little URL box. PH then adds the "img" on both ends to make it come out in your post.

The URL you have is from the imaging site. The picture was from an email I got. I tried to link from email, but that doesn't work.
The tip about unchecking the box was very helpful. Who thought that "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" meant "make my picture the size of a postage stamp"?

Anyway, to get this thread back on track:
