    Mc Donald's Religion

What is wrong with religion and the new eras?
Everyone wants to fill the gap in their lives with something so they go for fast things like drinking or drugs or stuff. Alot also take new age stuff but that is really just stripped down religions. Like Zen is Buddhism but they only want to do the easy part and be lazy and not do the rigorous activities. Their are also others from Islam and Hinduism that have been taken also. Also Islam, and Christianity is taking out the idea of "Love" from religion and just making it about the rules and rituals. Another thing happening in religions is even in the communities their are little cliques that are mean to other people and it turns people off to religions.

This is just a summarization of what my Islam teacher was talking about today it was awesome!

    Religion is false.

The thing that turns people away from religions is our inability to accept anything that is blatantly false.

Love is the centerpoint of Christianity where I grew up. As I have traveled, I have seen Christianity distorted and abused by those who claim it as thier own, but have no idea what it really is.

Who are the "good" Christians? How many have lived in imitation of the life of Christ? How many have followed in Christ’s footsteps? - Francis of Assisi, Mother Teresa, perhaps? There are many pretenders, but only a few saints to be found among all the pious frauds - too many of them pass more gas than gospel! The characteristic trait of Christ is selflessness, the rarest of all virtues. A true Christian does not proselytize, but performs good works; and does so anonymously, without fanfare or expectation of reward. One should be suspicious of those who are "Holier than Thou."

I agree with your entire statement but for one part:
A true Christian does not proselytize
Jesus last command was to go into all the world and preach the gospel, so a true Christian, just as Christ did, does proselytize.

Apart from that, you are entirely correct. No Christian is any holier than any other person, and all would do well to remember that.

Somehow, that doesn’t ring true - the need of Christians to proselytize their faith and propagate their religious beliefs. Are they so uncertain of their creed as to need the confirmation of converts to validate themselves? Surely, they must be of little faith who cannot rest assured while there are those that do not share their beliefs. Would it not be better - more in the true spirit of Christ - by your life to set a good example?

    Re: Mc Donald's Religion

Propigating Christianity is not about self validation. It is about care for other people's future, and wanting to share something wonderful.

If you knew of a place where they were giving away free gas, would you not go and tell everyone you know about it? Of course you would - and it would nto be because you need to validate it to yourself, but simply because you want to share something good that will benifit people.

Sorry...not true...he did not instruct to teach by anything other than example...and even HE walked away when those people did not want him around.

Christ NEVER forced his beliefs on others...he lived them. Something totally absent from today's society.
