Tell me... I have a friend who is gay and everyone says that its' wrong and against the bible and everything... so is it. I've never taken time to read the bible so I wouldn't know...

Yes, it is..... but so what? If you want a jump-start, read Paul's First Letter to the Corinthians.
.... now, if you're wondering whether to join your friend and your are looking for some licensure, I highly recommend against it.
For those who want to screw themselves up and be gay, it is their business. But they would be better off if they didn't.
Being gay is certainly more difficult in our society than being straight...
...unless, of course, you're gay. In which case, being straight is probably going to be really difficult, too.
It doesn't seem to be a conscious choice for most people, children. In fact, a good percentage of the gay people I've met over the years have struggled mightily against their inclinations at some point in their lives, and suffered the agonies of hell for their troubles.
The Bible is a PARABLE, so tell your "friend" it really doesn't matter anyway.
In my honest opinion, gays are being portrayed as cool and fun. Almost every television show geared at teens presently (and played in reruns) on TV has a gay character or characters who are hip and fun to be around. South of Nowhere, Degrassi Junior High, My So Called Life and Ugly Betty are just a few of the shows. The lure of the gay lifestyle is everywhere, tv, magazines, videos you cannot escape it. I don't think anyone is born gay, I think it's a choice regardless what some scientist or doctor wants me to believe.
Yes, the Bible is against it.Is Gay against the Bible
"Gays are being portrayed as cool and fun." ??? Really? Cool & Fun??
I would say that TV shows, like Ugly Betty portray gay guys as funny, feminine-acting and feminine looking. But cool and fun? I don't see it.
Gay females are either portrayed as hot and beautiful, but man-haters or as moody, goth-like, butch girls.
Oh my God, ilikeGW, make sure kids don't watch these shows you talk about because they're promoting being gay and you know how kids are influenced by that magic talking picture box; the TV is going to turn them gay!!![]()
"The lure of the gay lifestyle is everywhere..." HA HA! That's funny! But also, ilikeGW, the lure of the straight lifestyle is everywhere too! Again, if you're not already gay, you wouldn't be "lured" to the gay side by the gay depictions "everywhere."
And I know it is your opinion, but "I don't think anyone is born gay, I think it's a choice..."?? So then you also have to say that no one is born straight; it is by their own choice that they are straight. If one of your sons came up to you and said, "Mom I'm gay," would you start yelling, "What TV shows have you been watching? What music do you listen to? Are any of your teachers gay? That kid, "Johnny," that you play with, is his brother or father or uncle gay? Tell me!! Someone or something is influencing you to be gay! You were born straight; everyone's born straight! AUUUUGGGHH!! Who turned you gay!?!?!?"
Again, I know what you said is your opinion, but I had to respond to your post.![]()
That could not be any further from the truth. "gays are being portrayed as cool and fun" PLEASE, re-think that. Is that why hate crimes in states with more gays are higher? Is that why I hear the word faggat tossed around everyday? Is that why almost every kid in america uses gay or fag as an insult? Is that why Hate Crimes Against Gays is on the Rise Across the U.S?In my honest opinion, gays are being portrayed as cool and fun. Is that why most gay people wish they werent gay? Ive heard numerous six year olds say the word faggat. Ah, Right Im sure teens see a tv show with a hip gay and want to start being gay.
One in six attacks nationwide were against transgender people.
Bingo"The lure of the gay lifestyle is everywhere..." HA HA! That's funny! But also, ilikeGW, the lure of the straight lifestyle is everywhere too! Again, if you're not already gay, you wouldn't be "lured" to the gay side by the gay depictions "everywhere."
Bah, you suck!! Anyway, I do not think that people are born gay and that's my opinion, so there.![]()
Do you know how many gay people I know who have had children, were married? Almost all of the gay people I know personally have had relationships with the opposite sex and we really had no idea that they were gay until our aunt told us her "wife's" name.
You don't think TV influences people??????? Do you let your daughter watch any of Britney Spears videos or Christina Aguliera's "Dirrrty" video? I doubt you do, because you're afraid she will be influenced by what she sees on the screen. Please, as a parent, don't be so naive as to think that TV or radio or movies or even commercials cannot influence your child. Remember the huge fight over Joe Camel and how is "coolness" was making kids smoke at younger and younger ages?
If one of my boys tells me he's gay I don't know what I'll say to him other than "I love you."
