Thread: The book of Genesis

Hiya Anon, I had started a thread on PH concerning Adam and Eve and whether or not the Jewish People had misinterpreted the spoken word and questioning whether the Names were singular or plural, and whether a misinterpretation had occured when passing the knowledge down to the next generations. I had thought perhaps using the oldest language known on the earth(Sanskrit) that perhaps Adam was Adom and Eve was Ede. Yet there is no such known words in Sanskrit. Perhaps Sumerian I do not know.

Also we know that Eve bared two sons, Cain and Abel.........Cain speaks with GOD and fears others may kill him. What others? We know that he leaves Eden and goes to the Land of Nod. He Finds a woman and she gives him a son Enoch.

We now also know that other tribes of people were living all over the planet........in which the Jewish people were not even aware of. That there were religions that had come and gone. In the psuedo-sciences the theory of Ancient Aliens(aka Visitors) questions this Exact issue you brought up. They are convinced that we were visited. They have been showing a special on such for the last couple months on the History Channel. They state all the evidence is around us. From all four corners of the Earth. Using the Torah It clearly states........Let US make man in OUR image.

What do you mean, pick the garden of eden? God didn't pick it he created it just for Adam and Eve. so let's get something straight for another poster, there is no Tree of Knowledge.

now the "let us" quote is considered by some to be a reference to the triune God. There are others who believe that to be God talking to the angels.

Why would God need the help of angels or even care? Triune God? Is God Schizo?

The tree of knowledge bit is the tree Adam and Eve were forbidden to eat. Not sure why you think there wasn't a tree. Genesis 3 / Hebrew - English Bible / Mechon-Mamre

You are right about God creating the Garden.

God didn't need the angels help I just gave what some believe. Man was made in the image of God,so the us has to be God and a triune God is not schizo by definition.

When Eve ate from the apple she became aware of her nakedness. Why?

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat; and she gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat.
ז7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig-leaves together, and made themselves girdles.

what do you mean why? before they ate it was all good literally but after they ate their eyes were opened to good and evil and obviously they were ashamed so they covered themselves. The tree was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil like i said before they ate it was all good but now evil entered the picture and they did not like what they saw.

the reason i challenge someone saying the tree of knowledge is because of the misconception that God tried to keep knowledge from them but that is not accurate. He made it possible to keep evil from them. They already had knowledge.

Sounds to me like you are playing word games. Didn't God know they'd eat from the tree before he created Adam? God did want to keep the knowledge from them, but they were going to do it anyways.
