    Is God evil?

In the second commandment it states that god is a jealous god, and one of the 7 deadly sins is envy(jealousy). SO point being why would anyone want to follow and love a god that so states he uses one of the 7 most deadly sins? I think thats enough to be evil. But a religious person would respond, hes allowed to because he deserves your love and respect. Nobody deserves anything unless they earn it. god hasnt earned my respect seeing as im still athiest.

a better question might be, Is there a god? to debate the nature of god without a basis for his/her/it's existence gets us in what if debates.

Depends on the god. If you mean the Christian God, then the answer depends on whether you think morality is derived from Him or not. If God is the origin of morality, then God is whatever God says He is - Evil, Good, Whatever.

If morality is derived from humanity, the God of the Bible is what we would consider "evil" today, yes. That is a lot of "depends on" however.

morality is in the mind of the person. it comes from who and what we are as individuals. it is a society norm as well. that is why morality is an ethereal premise. it changes day to day nation to nation. a flux so to speak.

Yup, evil is an entirely subjective term.

Well that also depends on what we're talking about. Some people think it's immoral to take aspirin or drink caffeinated beverages... personally I like my aspirin and coffee. Since this moral decision doesn't have consequences for anyone other than myself, the moral nature is indeed subjective.

On the other hand some people think it is a moral duty to murder others. Since the act of murder does have consequences for other people, the nature of this decision can be applied objectively.

So while I agree morality can be relative, there are going to be certain universal moral standards which can be applied toward humanity that have objective qualifications.

something that is in a constant state of flux can't be used as a guideline. law that evolves can become a constant and applied.

I'm not even sure how this is supposed to make sense. Could you elaborate?
