    Vatican endorses Darwin

Vatican endorses Darwin, slights intelligent design
Creationism is a cultural phenomenon - like Paris Hilton
The Vatican gave the Creationist lobby a left right sign of the cross today, announcing it would stage a conference on Darwinism next month and declaring that it was one of the Fathers of the Church that thought up the idea in the first place.

At one point the conference at the Pontifical Gregorian University wasn't going to give Creationism or Intelligent Design a hearing at all. But apparently the organisers have relented, and will consider Intelligent Design as a "cultural phenomenon" rather than as a valid scientific theory, giving US-based IDers the chance to be smirked at by a room full of Monseigneurs, Cardinals and Bishops.

It's about time the church started looking at Creationism or intelligent design for what it is, a "cultural phenomenon". It sure as hell does not have a shred of evidence to back it up.

It's also funny how they mention "US-based IDers", like thats the only place you find people ignorant enough to discount evolution.

Actually, the Catholic church did not and does not endorse creationism. It's stance is that Genesis is allegorical. This has been mulled over within the church for centuries by various thinkers.

Contrary to popular belief this is a church not The Church . This is just the beginning of the ecumenical spirit that will join the religious institutions of the World together. All the colors do not bleed into one, One bled for all colors to make them one.

The majority of the church has consistently supported science as it pertains to evolution. I can put up the Billy Graham quote again if you like.

I am sure you thought you understood but the context of my post is just the opposite of what you assumed it to be.It does not matter what anyone believes is the point. But I will give you credit for being consistently w/o a clue. :waving:

The Vatican is improving, no doubt. It took them 382 years to exonerate Galileo, after the publication of his first manuscript espousing the heresy of heliocentrism.

In the case of Darwin, it took them only 150 years.

O really? And just who the fuck were you referring to when you spoke of "one bled for all colors"?

    Who is O' Really?

You display the same lack of context.
