    Book of Enoch

Upon my research days awhile back, I've stumbled across this book that the Jews did not want in their holy scripture.

The Book of Enoch, Chapters 1-60

This is the translation from the Aramaic version, with footnotes from the linguists.

I would like the input of Christans and non Christians alike. If you say "It's a fairy tale", back it up with why you feel that way. My own thoughts on this book are mixed, and I've prayed for clarification and the wisdom to understand the message. I believe those has been answered and some things stand out upon reflection, but I want yours first.

It's a fascinating read, even if you don't share the faith, imo.

And nor did the Christians. The book was rejected from the canon of every Bible except that of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. Early Church fathers had copies of it; it's not like it was an ancient text lost due to Jewish opposition to messiah prophecies.

I'm not sure what input you want from non-Christians. I don't think it's really possible to have any sort of meaningful discussion of Scripture between someone who believes it's divinely inspired and someone who doesn't believe in God. The paradigms through which we view it are too distinct.

I've heard other faiths call upon many of the names mentioned in that book, which turned out to be names of Angels. Also, there are a few parts that describe what could be considered the origins of spirits, otherwise known as entities, the ones that have been recently caught on video through TAPS. You could see through the thermal where the jacked got cooler in the spot it was tugged back on, while the other part of the camera recording the same thing in normal light, you could see the indent and tug caused by something you couldn't see.

Other faiths has used some of the things described, in imagery as well as names. I just wanted their thoughts on this, if they were willing to share. Unlike most others, I do retain an open and non insulting mind when discussing things of this nature.
