    Re: Rapture

Rapture or the concept of doomsday to me is found in many religions. I explain it as a psychological device used to control people emotionally.

By presenting followers with a scenario the world will blow up, it makes people feel vulnerable and helpless. That is the point. Vulnerable and helpless people fed a negative vision of doom and suffering then become controllable-you use their fear to control them and so the story is always...we all are doomed UNLESS we obey what the preacher says.

The rapture story like all emotionally manipulative psychological devices of its kind present negative doomsday and then the UNLESS you obey ultimatum....the doomsday is used as the bait-the follower bites and then once hooked on fear- they are told they must obey because it is the only way to escape the doom.

That is the key to such fear mongering- lay down the fear, then insist there is ONLY one way to escape the doom. There is ONLY ONE way because that ONE WAY is the very method of control used once the fear hooks in the baited soul.

So the world goes kaboom and then only certain people are saved- the ones that follow the ONE WAY and that ONE WAY is what the preacher says.

To me anyone who uses negative visions and references is an emotional and spiritual molester and manipulator. They are spiritual molesters of the worst kind who molest the free will and souls of others. They use fear to control the free will of others. They molest by exploiting and manipulating the weakness of others.

A preacher who needs to use negative visions and fear to control his or her followers is a spiritual pervert and molester and its not an accident the kind of people who use fear to control others are socio-paths and people with anti-social personality disorders and attract emotionally sick and vulnerable people.

A healthy person will not spend their time listening to some negative preacher telling them they are evil and must repent because doomsday is approaching.

A healthy person spends their time cultivating peace, hope, goodness, wisdom, through positive actions and from giving without expecting anything in return-each time we do something positive-we help the world heal from its conflicts I believe-and I believe that is far more important a message then some twit telling me I am going to hill unless I do what he says- love not fear is what a healthy person shares-scaring people into obeying is crass exploitation.

Thanks but show me a preacher of doomsday and I will show you nothing more then a socio-path or someone with an anti-social personality disorder, i.e., Reverend Rabbiah Mullah Father Charlie Manson.

If people want to use religion to try control the free will of others using negative fear mongering then I can not stop them from preaching. We live in a world of free speech and so Sarah Palin.

But if they come on my lawn I will take action. I have a water hose and a bucket of warm cat poo waiting.

    Vote Tina Fey.

Maybe you don't know about that war... Of course I haven't seen it because it hasn't happened yet.

It does not mean that you can make up an excuse for it and claim you have evidence. You have nothing. You must also swallow the idea of teaching creationism in a science class because you obviously have no idea what the fuck science is either.
So if thousands upon thousands of people disappear at the same time, an event predicted in the Bible, you don't consider that evidence pointing toward the idea that the Bible is the Truth? Or are you trying to make excuses because you don't like the Bible and you don't want to be wrong?

I know there is debate about when the Rapture will be. I think it will be pre-Tribulation though. No one knows the time when it will happen according to the Bible. If it happens after the start of the Tribulation, then we will have a good idea of when it will happen... especially if it were to happen at the end of the Tribulation (because there will be 42 months left until Christ's return after the Abomination of Desolation).

Truth doesn't belong in the conspiracy section. This is clearly religious material.

Religion is clearly a joke. Humanity is a joke, too, for that matter...

Hopefully you will change your mind when you witness a lot of people disappear in an instant.

How is one possibly suppose to see the Gog/Magog war? If there was something in the Bible that said "A war will break out in the Middle East between two regional coalitions, one consisting of Lybia, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and Iran, the other consisting of Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and the Central Asian 'stans; together with fighters from Palestinian militant groups Pakistan and most of the Arabian Emirates will later join the war on Egypt's side, while the Caucasian nations with fight with Turkey" (I know this is absurd - it's somebody else's theory), with maybe some details of names and places - then we'd have something that could be convincingly proven true if and when it really happens. Vague warnings of great and terrible wars are not testable - of course there will be great and terrible wars.
