The climate has been changing for billions of years, that's true. But then again, that fact alone sort of makes me wonder about the rapture...and even foretold in a book that claims the entire universe was created in less than 7 days something less than 10,000 years ago.

As for the Oberdan story, I'm impressed. Most people don't have an imagination like that. The only thing missing was Mary herself floating down through the ceiling and blessing everybody. I find myself wondering who slipped you the LSD.

If god is a cartoon like the one you described, I'll be supremely disappointed in this universe.

He died 14 days after being admitted to the nuthouse; and it was not his views on handwashing that put him there. The rejection from his scientific colleagues and the ridicule his views prompted may well have contributed to his depression and mental problems, but the absurd story that he was locked up because he thought handwashing prevented the spread of disease isn't true. And where did you get 9 years from?

That's fascinating, since the 1968 Merriam-Bradley Encyclopedia at the Univesity Library gives a different story. Since I'm going back next week, I'll print the article from Wikipedia and sit down and compare the differences.

One thing to note, I'm trusting more to the older books than the newer ones. History only happens once, but I've seen it re-written before even by the "official" sources. Usually though that is in relation to US History and the Constitution, and I see where there isn't any political gain by altering this story what so ever.

Thank you for pointing it out, I'll give an update about that sometime next week with the proper reference sources and publish dates. In fact, I intend to compare the newer books with the older books on this.

I do truly hope that you and others on this board are Saved. I believe Jesus is the only way to be Saved and I am only trying to help other people see that. I am not the best at explaining everything and I am not a great Bible scholar. I am not using Jesus to attack you or say you are a terrible person. But I do believe Jesus is the only way we are Saved and I hope that more and more people realize that.

Hell is unpleasant and I would wish it on nobody. Rapture is a good thing. To me, it is a time when we get to meet our Saviour. If you had my beliefs, would you agree that that is a good thing? One of my overall goals as a Christian is to spread God's Word and help people see that Jesus is the Truth and that Jesus is the path to salvation.

To the rest of your post, again, I am only trying to help.

I don't think you answered one of my questions, but you might have and I missed it... If you witnessed the Rapture, would you believe that the Bible is the Truth?

I disagree with you and have done my best to explain why out of great respect for you no other reason. when reading back what I wrote you have not been disrespectful but I was unintentionally. I am a bit cynical when I talk about religion.

I think you may have misunderstood the Rapture prophecy. All the good Christians will shoot straight up to Heaven, leaving them unable to claim back your loan. You, on the other hand, would still be here on earth with the rest of us mortals - and all of their money.

Well then...they're going to heaven soon, anyway. So I'll rephrase it all:

If any of you Christian true believers have some extra cash, any more than you'll need to survive past the Rapture, which should be here by Thursday, could you please mail it to me via check or money order before you go? You won't be needing it anyway. A signed deed/will to all of your property would be nice, too, for after you go up to your reward.
