Thread: So when do you think America will split?

So I think that America will split because of the rising culture war. Maybe not in my lifetime...but it seems like the fanastics in the middle east are just as bad as the christian fanatics overhere.

Sooner or later I predictthis whole scale will escalate and violence is going to break up in our culture war here in America....

What do you guys think about all of this?

America's Dividing Lines:

America will not divide because of religion. America would divide for many reasons before it would ever divide over religion. Of course that isn't to say that religion isn't the x factor in this outcome, but on the surface there will be no divide over religion greater than that which has already occurred.

Religion has already divided America as much as possible with late and great popshots such as removal of religion in public schools, Christmas becoming offensive, but the divide is as great as it will ever be. The damage with concerns to religion is done who's impact is felt by the popshots listed in short form above. People remove themselves from the environment that thrives on the belief they do not agree with, which creates a divide sure, but the amount of which has already been determined and isn't so bad for the common man. Better said, its enough to complain about, but thats it.

The divide of America can go down many roads, many of which are just beginning to surface more and more however they still use past traits of historical ideology, such as; racism, immigration, healthcare, disenfranchisement, and in a round form, politics, all of which are a crux as well as a fuel for their counter-parts.

The most probable, especially currently, is immigration which has prompted more racism and more hate as time goes on. This amount of hate will more than likely be compared to that of segregation in the 1960 when it festered on the public stage.

In a realistic setting a war could break out over many issues concerning illegal immigration, but as well not withstanding; freedom of speech, border disputes of historical note, and ultimately the right to live free. It start with people coming to this country, increased security fails or isn't enforced, border disputes erupt then escalate, then a poorly informed public arms themselves and fly "Come And Take It" flags on their front porch and at best inform themselves on how to operate their gun correctly and effectively. If we are lucky, these armed public are informed and simply preparing, but that is being optimistic.

Another likely event is the disarming of America by its own government and the subversion of the Constitution where the common collective argument is that the public will willingly give up their arms for more security and safety. However, there is still a rather large and already angry populace of armed Christians, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Agnostics and Atheists who will not go so quietly into the night. This would create a very long and drawn out standoff between parents at home and their children in their countries' military.

Ultimately America will split because of the weakness of its own people to compromise and to force a government to once again fear its people through active participation, education, and critical thinking. And if anyone were to ever build a script into which America would divide, they can count on the American public to be weak and let it happen.

The only thing that we can do to keep this country intact is the same thing we've been doing since 1776. Hard work, active community, informed public, and full participation of the construction of your future. In the new age the responsibility increases to abandoning hate, work towards positives of the masses, and doing it together with open minds.

It won't scare you to be on a sinking ship if you understand how to right it and sail home.

The term Culture War is a Billy Oreilly creation and is foundationless dribble supporting the rediculous notion that White Christian Americans are undar attack simply because of the presence of minorties within Oreilly's sight and the PC movement.

Muslims can't mobilize an army and take over the US. At least not in our lifetime. Now WE...have mobilized an army and it has conducted a variety of operations in different Muslim lands like Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

So if anybody has to worry about an invasion, it's the Muslims. And they need to worry about O'Reilly's Christian Americans invading Iran too, or Syria. With luck from heavan above, we'll have a new leader before George Bush and the Culture Warriors can continue thier bloodthirstiness

As far as our country splitting, Muslims are less than 1% of the poulation.

Whether Bill O Reiley is an idiot or not is another debate.

There are, have always been, and will continue to grow in number a large amounts of culture.

The way the government is acting lately is not exactly reassuring. The government, the different cultures (white black minoirty Super Christian Catholic, Atheist Liberal Conservative) is all part of the American melting pot yes...but change is coming and I think eventually America will split.

I think its diveristy wil lbe its downfall eventually. I use the term Culture War not in the bill O reiliey context but in this context.

Diversity? No, ignorance, hardheadedness, hate, and violence will be our downfall. The ability to NOT get along has more to do with it then the fact we are living next to someone different than ourselves.

I think the concept of recognizing diversity defeats the purpose of what the benefits of diversity are...I mean if you recognize people as different and you are trying to treat them as equal....ah thats too much and for another debate.

Time, dust, and the cycle of life will eventually see the end of the American Empire as we know it...

I see your point but sometimes I can't help but add my quirky little points to it. I don't disagree with you however.
