Thread: Left Behind

I suffered through 10 of the 12 books in the original series. Even though half of each book was repeating the last and the whole Rapture thing is Science Fiction, they kept me coming back for one reason, it could happen. But 4 years after forgetting all about them, I realized that, Today..right now...it Is happening. Maybe not even in "Christian terms" but the Political storyline of the series is earily close to what is happening today. Does anyone who read these books feel this way?

The swift consolodation of the world creating a Global Community with a Global Army? "Babylon" being rebuilt and is becoming the world's Market place. Possible government "Conspiracies" and lies leading the masses astray to achieve a hidden agenda? It also seems as though he US will eventually surrender its Constitution for some form of "Union". Or am I just high tonight?

I wish I could comment, but youre a more patient man than I am. I couldn't deal with half the book recaping the one before, and quit reading at number 3.

You know most non-believers are blind to the signs. Looks to me that you are wiser than you think you are or maybe Someone is showing you the truth. Can it happen? It will happen.

I was under the impression that the idea of a rapture is not widely accepted among Christains.

I think that's because it wasn't introduced until fairly recently.


Well if there are "signs", make sure it's not a self-fulfilling prophecy. Sometimes it makes me wonder why so many christian organizations want the jews in the holy land. Sounds a little self-fulfilling to me.

I almost quit there too, but my girlfriend was already on book six by the time I got to three and I'm too competetive to quit, especially when she had already put in so much hard Labor. How could I pus out then?

Believe it or not, many main-stream Protestant churches do believe in the Rapture, even though it is never mentioned by name, and even the believers in it have only one verse to prove its coming? Not sure what exactly the Catholics believe today on 9/19/07, because it seems their beliefs change daily.
