Should one be allowed to take the blame for others?

According to many of the faithful, Jesus died for our sins. Now personally I dont believe in jesus, the crucifiction or even the concept of sin itself, but this case presents an interesting ethical and juriprudencial issue. Should one be allowed to take the blame for others?

It's supposed to have been a symbolic act, not literal.

Symbolic acts can result in the formulation of ethical discussion as well.

Maybe it was morally right during those times. Maybe to keep the honor for someone else, like a family member. Maybe Jesus saw humanity as his family.

    Maybe...

According to Liberals it can be done. Gun manufactureres are sued for deaths commited by criminals...tobacco manufacturers are sued for idiots who smoke knowing it will kill them. Liberals and scumbag lawyers are always looking to pin something on the deep pockets rather than having people take persoanl responsibility.

    How's that Ausinus?

I'm sure Freecell will straighten me out, but it is my understanding that this traces back to Adam and Eve and the Original Sin. They originally walked in direct relationship with God, until their sin in the garden. God said that if they eat of the fruit, they will surely die. Of course he meant a spiritual death and as result, man could no longer experience this direct relationship with God. All men born into this sin, will experience this separation. Jesus, supposedly born of a virgin, broke this cycle by breaking the bloodline.

The Law requires Jews to make a blood sacrifice in repentance of their sins. Jesus' death was necessary to both bridge the gap that the original sin created which kept us separated from God, as well as becoming the blood sacrifice covering all sin for mankind. Christians believe that no man can come to the father in heaven, except thru Jesus Christ, who is seated at the right hand of the father.

It has been awhile since I've heard the story, but this is what I remember from those days.... But to answer the question, Yes, if you are a Christian, God said so, and who else can make such a decision? If you are not a Christian, and believe everything stated is a fairy tale, then....No because we are accountable for our own actions.
