Thread: The Religious Right

So exactly what kind of American society does the Religious Right want to have? Does it want a nation built on biblical law? Does it want to outlaw everything that isn't "christian", such as homosexual lifestyles (not just marriage, but homosexuality itself)? What about people of other faiths or non-faiths? Do they get shunted off to the reservation?

I would say that the extreme end of the Religious Right (and I would include Dobson in there) were working on deleting the separation of church & state to ensure that this nation is a Christian nation. Part of their agenda was a tough stance on homosexuality and abortion.

The exact same thing as Iran has. A theocracy.

I always wonder how hardcore social conservative christians square their obviously fascist and theocratic tendencies with democracy and their "love" for American ideals. Seems to be a contradiction.

What the hell happened to the conservatives? Why don't they ever weigh in on anything other than a subject about Bush?

Because they worship him, and everything he does is automatically right. THey just ignorantly follow along and do what they're told.:whistling:

I was hoping some religious conservatives would comment on this. I mostly want to know how christian arch-conservativism and liberal democratic ideals can co-exist.
