What about all other faiths, we're not also inspired by God?

Explain why councils were needed to decipher scripture and the set the direction of the church's beliefs and value?

Quit running around the question and just answer it?

Wrong. The bible has been edited more times than all of the Harry Potter books put together.

    Re: Finding God Within Ourselves

Christian God was never intended to be in you, he is a different entity, as claimed time and again. God isn't in you, He cannot be since you are sinners (original sin), you were said to look like him.

And finally, it's obvious how comforting the thought of God has been made over time. This is the same God who destroyed the Tower of Babel, imprisoned his angels by burying them alive and killed entire populations by drowning them. You are to be kidding me if you said he was some internal pacifyer or a personal God. He doesn't kill Satan and throws him down to trouble us, despite knowing the fact that he will damage our lives, in some way. In fact, he doesn't even fight him! And Lucifer is said to be some high-ranking angel... not some road side super-natural monkey who one can handle... in literature... I have difficulty believing in such supernatural speculation.

If he were personal, he wouldn't ask for physical sacrifices mind you. I think they have copied the concept from Eastern faiths - where such belief has existed way before the Christian concept of personal God, or the Judaism concept of the wrathful God.

We can handle the devil, he no longer is high ranking angel, and I am comforted to know that God is the God of the tower of Babel and the genesis flood.

For those who know God the devil really is no factor at all.

It's funny because even then, you may not be able to confirm if it *is* the same God... you cannot verify that, right? Again, regardless of his existence, you will refer to past 'references' who again may be very questionable.

It's typical psychology for the masses - a common enemy and your united stand. Too political in my view.
