    Factcheck.org and Flackcheck.org <--- seems reliable and mostly non-partisan.

www.FactCheck.org is a nonpartisan, nonprofit “consumer advocate” for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. We monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews and news releases. Our goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship, and to increase public knowledge and understanding. FactCheck.org is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. The APPC was established by publisher and philanthropist Walter Annenberg to create a community of scholars within the University of Pennsylvania that would address public policy issues at the local, state and federal levels.

www.FlackCheck.org is a video-based counterpart to APPC’s award-winning program FactCheck.org. FlackCheck.org uses parody and humor to debunk false political advertising, poke fun at extreme language, and hold the media accountable for their reporting on political campaigns.

    www.politifact.com
PolitiFact is a project of the Tampa Bay Times and its partners to help you find the truth in politics. Every day, reporters and researchers from PolitiFact and its partner news organization examine statements by members of Congress, state legislators, governors, mayors, the president, cabinet secretaries, lobbyists, people who testify before Congress and anyone else who speaks up in American politics. We research their statements and then rate the accuracy on our Truth-O-Meter – True, Mostly True, Half True, Mostly False and False. The most ridiculous falsehoods get our lowest rating, Pants on Fire.

Mostly good stuff, altho some of politifact's findings are debatable. The latest being this welfare=dole? bitchfest between media outlets (yah I know, these media outlets are suppose to report the news, not be the news.. but it is mildly entertaining) Maddow Declares Politifact ‘Dead’ Over Bogus Lawrence O’Donnell GI Bill Ruling | Mediaite

Politifact has been criticized as "political opinion masquerading as high-minded investigative journalism". You be the judge.

    yea, interesting on Politifact!

Okay, two of my favorites. First one (and @mtm1963 will love this ):

Talking Points Memo | Breaking News and Analysis | TPM

    About TPM Media
Talking Points Memo (TPM) is one of the most innovative political news organizations in the United States. The editors of Time magazine say TPM “has become the prototype of what a successful Web-based news organization is likely to be in the future.” With its relentless focus on breaking news, original reporting and investigative journalism, TPM has made itself a must-read for DC insiders, the media who cover them and politically engaged people everywhere. And media watchers have taken notice too: In addition to many other awards and citations, TPM was the first online news organization to win the prestigious George Polk Award in 2008.

Despite, mtm's scoffing, TPM does in fact provide excellent original reporting, in addition to the commentary offered in the Editor's Blog, which is from left of center perspective.

Second, of two of my favorites:

    Taegan Goddard's Political Wire

Taegan D. Goddard is the founder of Political Wire, one of the earliest and most influential political web sites.

Goddard spent more than a decade as managing director and chief operating officer of a prominent investment firm in New York City. Previously, he was a policy adviser to a U.S. Senator and Governor.

Goddard is also co-author of You Won - Now What? (Scribner, 1998), a political management book hailed by prominent journalists and politicians from both parties. In addition, Goddard's essays on politics and public policy have appeared in dozens of newspapers across the country, including the Washington Post, USA Today, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, Chicago Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer and Christian Science Monitor.

Goddard earned degrees from Vassar College and Harvard University. He lives in New York with his wife and three sons.

You're wildly wrong, but I enjoy the banter about it =)

... and being able to distinguish reporting from opinion pieces. And raging from a different opinion than the one you hold, of course .

    C-SPAN | Congress, Politics, Books, U.S. History

If you want to hear what some politician said on the floor, what was said at a congressional hearing or what was said at a press conference without it being taken out of context or misrepresented by the biased news media then the C-SPAN video library is the place to go. They record everything from beginning to end and have a searchable database that goes back for decades.
