Leftists Deriving Political Inspiration From Vendetta

Leftists Deriving Political Inspiration From Simplistic Fantasy Flick

    Posted by P.J. Gladnick on September 6, 2006 - 10:51.

Don't be too surprised if you start seeing Guy Fawkes masks popping up at leftist demonstrations and political events in the near future. The reason is that the leftists are now deriving their political inspiration from an incredibly simplistic fantasy movie called V For Vendetta which they take completely seriously as is indicated from this title of a recent thread at the Democratic Underground, "The answers to many of our questions can be found in the movie 'V'."

If you are not up to speed on V For Vendetta aka V For Vicodin, it is set in the near future where Britain is ruled by the fascistic regime of High Chancellor Adam Sutler (read "Adolf Hitler") whom the movie makes sure we know is a member of the Conservative Party. The characters of V have the one-dimensional subtlety of a sledge hammer with Sutler never speaking normally but with a vicious snarl. Muslims are portrayed in this movie as among the innocent victims of a hate campaign (also directed against lesbians) where even the ownership of a Koran results in quick execution by the EVIL regime.

'Sometimes the best way to change the world, is to blow up a building.' - A quote from said movie.

Well hell, why don't you just go to Iraq and hand out the damned explosives?

Why does the right care so much what the left does in their own demonstrations or at any event? Maybe they're afraid it might hurt their side...? If it's so silly then why attack it?? I think the right needs to concentrate on strengthening their side instead of bashing the other side but that's just my opinion.

The same reason everyone is attacking that new 9/11 movie I guess...

This movie was obviously partisan, and very, very stupid.

Hmm, kinda like how the left is boycotting a movie about 9/11 that none of them have seen because they think it's a righty rocks movie?

...but, but...Righties don't Rock!! (although 'ilikeGW', you're kinda cool ...)

And "V for Vendetta"? Damn, that movie was cool! I saw it in the theatre and now I have it on DVD. Love the music and the explosions at the same time! Better than the scene in "Apocolypse Now" where the music and the helicopters were together......The Doors, "The End".) Ahh, music and violence together in an operatic symphony!

    Conservative,

And yet, your avatar is of a man with his mouth wide open in what appears to be hollering. Very much like Sutler to me, in some degree.

I enjoyed the movie, and it has it's messages. But if you think I'm going to wear one of those masks and throw knives at people, then it's your ignorance showing itself.

Oh, by the way, welcome to real life. Where a movie is a movie and nothing more.

I haven't seen the movie so for all I know it could be justified.
