Well, hardly ever. I once saw a picture from 1964 that showed a couple of inches. That must have been the last time.
One year we got a trace of snow in San Bernardino, about 1968.

My grandparents lived in Yuccaipa and they did get a couple inches, the first time I'd ever played in snow.

    Thx

I don't mind snow anymore. I spent 23 years in SLC, and for many of those years I worked outside, I am a retired contractor. Saw my share of blistering heat, and frigid conditions that would have killed a lesser man....hahahaha
Congratulations on your survival and retirement. I've been retired for seven years now, and find that weather is much less bothersome when you have the option of just staying home and waiting for it to improve.

I hope everyone is safe, but I have to tell you Western Washingtonians something...

Over here on the east side of the Cascades, you know... where it "actually" snows... we love watching Northwest Cable News when it snows on the west side. Some of the best comedy on television.

    Approximate quote from earlier today:

"We've now reached one of the most dangerous parts of a storm. The snow has accumulated to where you cannot see the lines on the road. That's right. The lines that separate the lanes and tell you where the edge of the road is are no longer visible."

Then later, a newscaster "out in the field" proceeded to demonstrate the best way to measure the depth of newly fallen snow.

(Using his plastic 12" ruler): "Now you don't want to measure snow in a vegetated area because when you push the ruler down you will also be measuring the depth of the blades of grass or the shrubbery. Pick a nice flat surface with a solid base."

Just my little silver lining on your cloud.
Take me home Momma and put me to bed. I have seen enough to know I have seen too much.

45 degrees here in the northeast. sun is shining bright. good thing too, the wind blew off the tar paper on my shed roof, tomorrow is maybe 50 degees, so i can get it fixed before the next rain. Just hopin' its only the tar paper and not the wood underneath, don't care to produce that kind of cash, but the shed was built in 1916, been tar papered a few times over the years, so it may be time to replace the whole roof. We'll see. Oh, the trials of being a homeowner. Got lots of precious tools from decades ago in there.

I'm back up around 50 degrees or so.

This PROVES IT!!! GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL!!! Where are the people whose thought process I am applying here? They're such vigorous participants when it's cold outside, so enthusiastic about telling us all that global warming is a farce because it's cold where they are.

And now that it's warm? Apparently they're not so sure their simple-minded logic can be applied...is that it? Big snowstorms = proof that the world is still nice and cool. But warm days through January are just a fluke.

I guess some of us only see what we want to see.

because cooler than normal local weather is proof positive that global warming is a hoax. Anyway, everyone knows that it's just a liberal plot to establish a worldwide government and enslave us all by liberalism. I heard it on the EIB, so I know it must be true.
