Should the United States govern the number of children we as Americans can have?

Thats kind of a tricky question. It seems that that one certain family can afford it or can at least work together to make it work, being that there is a Mom and Dad involved in the picture together. But there are some women who have 4, 5, 6 kids by all different dads and especially the women who aren't suited to take care of children. Like the ones who are drug users and dont even take care of themselves and keep populating the earth with more and more kids. Those kind of women need to be made to have their tubes tied after the 1st child or 2.

That is a tough one. In the case of the article mentioned above, I dont think it would be necessary for anyone to step in and tell them no more kids. If memory serves me, they are a pretty wealthy family and the mother is a "stay at home mom" so she is there to take care of them. I say as long as they are living on thier own income and all parties involved are healthy and happy why not let them keep having kids? Whi are they hurting? But then there are women who keep having kids simply b/c they are too irresponsible to use birth control or just not get pregnant. These women live on welfare and foodstamps and are themselves a drain to our society and are in turn raising the next generation of those who will cotinue to be a drain on society. These are the people who need someone to intervene and tell them that its time to stop.

No. The government should be kept to a minimum. If we start letting them tell us this and that, we can say goodbye to any hopes of smaller government and less regulation.
