I had long term memory problems for a few years now but today I went to town and forgot what I went there for. I could not remember for the life of me and had to come home and explain to the wife. I will be going to the doctor on the 12th.

I have a head injury (TBI)& have short term memory problems that causes me to forget what I am doing sometimes too. Have you recently had any head trauma? How old are you? (probably nothing to worry bout.....but worth checking out)

Short term memory covers anything that happened 20 minutes ago or less. Long term is obviously anything after.

I not only have huge short term and long term memory problems, and I have begun forgetting how to spell everything even if I looked it up the day before. And I do weird things like writing "are house is on fire" instead of writing "our house is on fire". My ability to type is leaving me.

In my case it's self inflicted injury, too much abusing my body between 12 and 30. This crap happens in my family but usually to the 80 year olds.
