It was seven seasons. Only Deep Space 9 had the same number and only Stargate Sg-1 had more (10), but the last 2 were pretty bad.

I used to give my dad head massages so I could stay up to watch The Twilight Zone and Outer Limits. All the episodes were stand alone stories, but very good.

One of William Shatner's earliest gigs was Nightmare at 20,000 feet on TTZ...

    4 years before Trek

Here's a strange connection between your fav and mine (Babylon 5)

"When casting for the role of the shady Mr. Morden for the television series Babylon 5, creator J. Michael Straczynski chose Ed Wasser (who had played a bit part in the series' two-hour pilot TV movie) for the role because of his slick looks, charm, and vocal mannerisms reminiscent of a young Rod Serling."
    August 28, 2008 - Obama nomination speech

"let me spell out exactly what that change would mean if I am president...I'll eliminate capital gains taxes for the small businesses and start-ups... I will cut taxes...many of these plans will cost money, which is why I've laid out how I'll pay for every dime..I will also go through the federal budget line by line, eliminating programs that no longer work"

Star Wars is fantasy, not science fiction. "The Force" is not a scientific concept.

And the skills employed by "Q" of Star Trek were scientific?

Very good point and another flaw in the argument for Trek, which had the worst continuity of almost any TV Sci Fi.

Personally, I hated Q episodes. Then again, I loved the Ferengi, those little profit driven big earned gnomes from TNG and DS9.

DS9 was my favorite. Partly because I liked the political intrigue, and partly because I liked Shawn Wallace* as the Ferengi "Grand Nagus."

    * aka "The Great Vizini" from "The Princess Bride" and many, many other roles and voices.

Well that SHOULD be true, if it weren't for the stupid 'midiclorines' or whatever that attempted to make it scientific in the new ones.

The ones of which we shall not speak.
