The toilet seat issue I never got. Well, I have a dog that will drink out of the toilet so I just close the entire bowl. It's probably better for everybody that way. I know its better to have it shut when you flush since all the particles from the toilet fly out of the bowl all over the bathroom when you flush.

I close the lid for sanitary reasons and The house is all women except Ivan and he has his own bathroom. I don't care what he does in there and I don't want to know.
