So being a married father with resposnibilites and so on I dont play any online games. And being in my mid 30's there were no online games when I was at the age and stage of life when I COULD have played online games.

I played Star Wars Galaxies for about a year in 2004 and that's pretty much all that happened in 2004. I could easily have become one of those South Koreans that literally keels over dead having forgotten to eat and sleep.

I came across this today. http://www.swtor.com/

I guess 5 years with the wife was a good run. I wish her well in the future.

    Is that live now?

Star Trek online recently went online, I dont know how good it is, I've drifted away from my gaming

guilds and friends over the last couple years.

It's really hard to find a good Sci Fi mmo, Tabula Rasa was practically stillborn. I played SWG

post SONY and didnt really like it much.

I got into the Starwars first person shooter for a couple of years. It was extremely addicting and destructive but so much fun.

When Im on my death bed my only regret will be "I didn't play enough video games"

I spent almost a decade playing way too much, I modded games, made maps, belonged to several squads-

    guilds etc.

EverQuest, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online, City of Heroes, EVE Online, Guild Wars.

Yeah, you could say I have a little experience with MMOs.

As I've told you I played Star Wars Galaxies some time back (was interested in it before it came out, my first experience on an online forum, in fact). Where I got the name "Feslin". My sister still plays SWG. I would like to, but I can't bring myself to face that mutated zombie. Fucking shame, it was easily one of the best games ever, it had a Wild West feel that no other game has implemented so well.

SWTOR looks good, and if I trust anyone to make an excellent game, it's BioWare. Their recent games (Dragon's Age and Mass Effect 2) were mind-blowingly awesome. BioWare is one of the few companies that see plot, atmosphere, and dialogue as critical parts of the game. They've hired 12 full-time writers for SWTOR, and some of them have been writing on it for years.

    Not at all.

I played SWG post SONY and didnt really like it much.

    SWG post-CU was bad.

SWG post-NGE is a fucking travesty.

Games, hardware, and communities get worse every year. It's all too bad to go through and explain.

One day, I'll completely detach myself from them. I hope that day's sooner than later.

But it's sp nice to trunt hat brain off and spend 3 hours finding something to decorate your in-game house with, or sleeping in your chair wanting to level something up before packing it in.

I can't wait unitl I retire. I figure by them I can do what i want when i want, the wife wont care anymore if I sit and rot, and the games by that time are going to be jacked straight into a USB port implanted in your brain -- wired directly to your central nervous system.

My sister owns an in-game cantina on SWG, and you should see some of the shit they pull of on that game in regards to interior decorating.

My "interior decorating" way back when was a number of backpacks hanging on the wall holding my various resources, sorted by type and quality.

Also, it turns out us long-time players get the coolest in-game thing ever: A fucking Darth Maul statue.
