    Final wishes

Death waits us all. In the Old Testament 'death' is personified as 'the King of terrors' , in the New Testament it gets even worse as victims are not allowed to die to escape torture after death.

So what will you do with the body? Your own body. How are you going to have it disposed? Most think of funerals. Try to pay for one that costs less than $5k. That's a lot of money to cough up for something you didn't want to buy in the first place and chances are it will cost more than that.

Have you considered donating your corpse to a medical college? It will be taken at no cost and no one will have to pay for it to be disposed. Your corpse will be used to teach people how to understand disease.

Best of all your kids don't have to shell out money to pay somebody to throw dirt in your face.
"Perhaps the earth can teach us, as when everything seems dead in winter and
later proves to be alive. " Pablo Neruda

“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.” Upton Sinclair

"One does not sell the earth that people walk upon." John Trudell (after Crazy Horse)

"This world we live in is but thickened light." - -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

    Science is a good idea.

As a veteran, I rate a free burial (at sea is my choice) and free flag for Mom (or the local HS if she beats me to death's door). Still might do the science thing. The odds are my body would be too shredded for an open casket funeral, so, even though I'm an organ donor, the science thing never really crossed my mind. I'll give it some thought. Thanks.

I left instructions that should my wife survive me, I want to be stuffed standing up, with my arms folded, a smirk on my face, and placed on the wall above her bed.

Here's where my philosophy differs from yours, Gabe.

I specifically instructed my wife to bang every Harry Dick Tom that stumbles across her path if I go first.

I mean, what do I care? Plus, it's what I'm doing if she goes first.

    Not dudes, tho.

Out of respect, I'm sure most Marines would throw a sheet over you early in the evening.

I think the perfect ceremony for me would be stuffed in a sack, tossed overboard, a few short, solemn words then XO Movie Night and a two-beer ration for all hands.
