    Banana Peels....WTF

Ok...so my son travels a particular highway to get to school everyday. Where he turns off the highway is a small concrete divider. Over a year ago, he started telling me about the banana peels everyone was throwing out on the divider. He went on to take bananas on his way to school so he could throw his peel too.

I swear to god this happens. You drive by and see nothing but banana peels piling up and every now and again, the county must come by and clean them up.

The it starts all over again. I had to drive by this intersection last night....and quess what....loads of banana peels.

Considering my son starts school again in two weeks...I suppose Id better stock up a bananas.

Bananas, at least the Cavendish ones we put on our Cheerios and eat for snacks, are on the way out. In a couple years you won't have to worry about it.

This snopes article points out that not all bananas will become extinct, but the one we favor is in danger. BTW, prior to the Cavendish was the Big Mike. It was reported to have been both sweeter and tastier than the Cavendish, but when it fell to fungus early in the 20th Century, it was replaced by the less tasty Cavendish.

That's cool. I love when stuff like that happens.

When you line up to get into the movie theater down by Pike Place Market in Seattle, you could end up standing right by the Gum Wall.

People started putting their chewed up gum on the wall and then every once in awhile the owner would have the wall scraped clean and it would start all over again. Finally they gave up and it's considered a local landmark now.

Definitely not the place for a germaphobe though.
