I have a 2001 Nissan Altima. I bought it because it was in good used shape and I needed some wheels. But I'm currently in the midst of selling it as I am in Korea now. When I come back to the states I'll be getting another car.
My first car was a college graduation gift; a 1993 Nissan Sentra. It was a zero-frills car; crank-windows, no power locks, no power steering, stick shift, no air conditioning... and I loved it. With cruise control (okay, it had one frill), I could get over 40mpg on the highway. I drove that thing for eleven years or so, and it broke my heart to sell it in 2004. But it was a two-door vehicle, and once we had our second child, a two-door car was just too much of a nuisance.
When my wife's ancient 1970-something Chevy Malibu classic died in 1996, we replaced it with a Honda Civic. I take it in for routine maintenance on a schedule, and it still runs like new. When we sold my Sentra, we bought a Toyota Sienna minivan. With the two kids, and no family living in the area, we knew we'd be doing a fair bit of traveling, and there's no high-capacity vehicle that gets better mileage than a mini-van.
I drive a 2005 Mazda 6 that I keep clean and maintaned. It's got a great sound system and it's painted this eye melting purple metal flake color. It's not a Lexus but nobody is ashamed to be seen in it. Some Californians are neurotic about the car status symbol thing. I drive it because people neither criticize nor praise it and it's paid for.
Now my favorite is my 2001 Chevy Prizm. Last week my niece backed into her driver's front fender and I thought the white streaks were a nice addition. She hauls anything including dirt and loose bark chips. It has the most amazing stock CD player I've ever heard. She's ruthlessly been hit about once per year and it was never my fault. I drive her because nobody else can be trusted to view her positively.
I drive a mini van....For I am a soccer mom. Ford Windstar GL.
Right now a Hyundai 2008 Azera, previous a 2 Nissan Altima SE 5 speeds 2005 2007, before that Grand Prixs 2003 2001 (that was a GTP) Tarus SHO somewhere around 95, the first model style not the lousey 2nd generation. Can't remember all the rest. TR6 as a weekend car for around 20 years but got tired of working on it so I finally sold it about 3 years ago.
First car I ever bought myself 1975 Mazda RX-3 after that they have all been company cars.
My wife drives a Hyundai Santa Fe which she loves and I enjoy having. Took it on a 2500 mile trip this summer and it was great.
Nope. I just know a good car when I see it and drive it. The Gran Prix's were pretty good but they got to expensive and the options got too limited to the packages. That Altima's were great and fun to drive. My Azerza is powerful but a more refined ride and more bells and whistle's.
I drive a Toyota truck 1986 with 310,00 mile and still doesn't burn Oil. We just bought a 2007 honda fit gets around 38 to 40 mpg. We have driven Honda Civics for the last ten years because they are reliable, good on gas, and good resale value. I also drive a Harley Super Glide 2003. Very well made bike, but don't get a flat tire in the middle of no where. No spare
My wheels....
