Just wondering....
Just wondering....
I'm pretty sure this game was scheduled a long time ago. To answer your question, I don't know, which is no answer really. If I can put some Republican spin on the Detroit situation, after lask weeks loss by the Titans to the Jets that leaves only the Lions with a perfect record.![]()
Detroit has only one playoff victory in the last 50 years or so, after a very successful decade in the 50's including three championships.
Back in the Barry Sanders days, we still sucked, but we were very competitive on Thanksgiving providing for quite a few upsets. These last 7 or 8 years have been exceptionally bad.
The Detroit Lions are 1-20 over their last twenty one games, this after starting last season with a 6-2 record.
They need to stop fucking up Thanksgiving. It's like, why even watch it? It's time to let some other team play on Thankgiving Day. One that might actually win.
And while I'm bitching, I'm pretty sick of the same old Dallas against whomever can't play for shit so you know who's gonna win that game, too.
I get to watch very little football as I work on Sundays, and almost always fall asleep during night games, so Thanksgiving football is a big treat for me, and having it be two blowouts year after year is just a big waste.
There are plenty of teams out there that can beat Dallas and there might even be a team out there that can lose to Detroit. They just need to make a better matchup. And yes, they can do a much better job of it a year in advance of the actual game. We all knew Detroit would suck this year. Put Seattle on Detroit and Tennesee on Dallas. Both games would have been much more exciting.
Well I guess a year ago Seattle was doing very well. If they made the schedule one year ago the Seahawks and the Cowboys might be predicted to be a good game. I guess it shows how ever changing the NFL is.
If your a college player and you get drafted by Detroit you probably will say to your self: "Dang! I am on a crappy team plus I will never have thanksgiving dinner with my family!"
