Rome is huge and pretty filthy. I traveled all over and found Florence, Sienna and Venice far more enjoyable. I would not go to Italy and not see those but I could care less about seeing Rome again.

I think it's all about the history for me. I've heard the same thing you are saying about Rome. But yeah, Venice and Florence are a must.

If I were a non-European planning a vacation in Europe, Italy would be the one country I'd consider a must, too. However, they say Prague is quite nice too.

As for castles, one of my dad's friends bought one back in the nineties. It was in ruins though, and they had to rebuild most of it. It's just a small castle too, barely worth the title, not too far from the city.[/quote]

I used to live with 2 roommates that were from Czech Republic about 10 years ago, one from just outside Prague. His mom sent me a Christmas card every year. Nice family. I would love to see that area of Europe.

    Those pics are amazing.

Let me know if Prague becomes a viable possibility. I know a decent hotel owner who wouldn't try to screw you over.

Here, scroll down if you want to see some pictures of what Prague looks like this week:

Oh, but speaking of castles, I've seen a couple, but this one probably takes the cake. Completely mindblowing. Chenonceau, France:

    Thank you very much!

Those pictures are absolutely gorgeous. The snow, everything. It looks so inviting.

So I only remember "pevo". Can I get by on that?
