    A moment of silence please.

Today, we have lost one of the greats.

The great actor who portrayed the great Cletus "Snowman" Snow in the Smokey and the Bandit movies, has passed away at the age of 71.

He was also an incredible guitar player and song writer.

Here's a bootlegged Coors for Jerry Reed.

Boogada, boogada, boogada! I'll just bet that Jerry's eastbound and down up in heaven.

I'll miss him although his music will live on. I used to catch him regularly of the old Glenn Campbell Good Time Hour. His portrayal of a trucker in "Smokey and the Bandit" launched a perception that the American trucker was the last of the cowboys.

I heard the news on my way home from work this evening, he is probably sitting next to Jackie Gleason in a diner somewhere upstairs havin' a diablo sandwich and a Dr. Pepper, havin' a great time, doing lines from Smokey and the Bandit like...
    "Thankyou kind lady...nice ass"
    and
"The foist thing I'm gonna do when we get home is punch yo moma right in the mouth"

I will be getting out my very well worn Smokey and the Bandit DVD tonight and watch it again for the gozillionth time, and as always, I'll laugh like it is the first time.

Rest in peace Jerry, you gave out a lot of smiles!

Can you get Diablo Sandwiches in Heaven?

My favorite Jerry Reed song was "When You're Hot, Your Hot, (And When You're Not, You're Not.)"

His truck in Smokey and the Bandit was a Kenworth W900, and does anyone remember that cool and collected big ear'd dog who used to ride with him? They were a hysterical comedy team.

I remember the Glenn Campbell hour. It was on right before Hee Haw on I believe Sunday at 7:00, and He Haw at 8:00, CBS... Now I'm gonna go google all this to see if my memory is at all accurate.

Great song. He got a Grammy for that. Time is a bitch. Godspeed Jerry.
