I just learned that our Devil (I can never remember his attached numerical suffix) is a former DEA agent. He's always kept primarily to the political threads and I don't think I know much about him. I like his views. His current avatar is boss.

Devil, would you care to be interviewed?

(It sounds kind of redundant to say "Drug Enforcement Agency Agent." But I guess that's what we call people who work for the agency.)

Awhile back, we had a thread dealing with legalizing drugs and Devil spoke at length about his former work.

And another member was a corrections officer, and Knuckles is a Mountie.

    Sure thing.

    A little background:

I graduated Northeastern University (Boston) in 1969 with a BA in Political Science

Went right to work with the IRS as a Revenue Officer where I got involved with their NTP (Narcotic Traffickers Project)

Transferred to DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) as a Special Agent in 1974 & graduated DEA's "Basic Agent" class #4 in May 1974.

(DEA was a brand new agency designed to centralize the federal fight against illegal drugs. President Nixon's admin was behind it & I was in the 4th class of new agents)

Worked until the night of 12/19/1989 when I was run down on the job & permanently disabled. (went through the windshield of a car & ended up with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury)

Med-flighted to University Hospital, Boston & then Braintree Rehab Hospital.

Hospitalized a total of about 3 months, first few weeks in a coma.

I am now 63 years old & occasionally do surveys for an insurance company, but mainly pontificate on these forums!

I am married to my original wife (since a junior in college in 1968) & have 3 grown daughters & 3 grandchildren. (oldest Grandson is 17 & just got accepted by Wentworth Institute, Boston for their architect program.

    Thanks, 505!

Yeah, the DEA stuff caught my attention, but then I realized that I didn't know much about you, considering how long as we've both been here. That's an amazing life story. Wow, do the libertarians here know you were a "revenuer"? heh-heh...

Anyway, thanks for playing. I was genuinely curious and have enjoyed your commentary for some time. Interestingly, in some ways, you're more vociferously left-wing than me, sometimes!

I consider myself a liberal on most social issues but conservative on other things. (I'm pro-choice but favor the death penalty for many heinous crimes)

I hate hypocrites & liars the most....& therefore obviously intensely dislike the GOP leadership & their media voice...Fox News.

As far as political affiliation is concerned, I'll use Will Rodger's old line:

"I'm not a member of any organized political party..............I'm a Democrat." (I'm really more of an anti-Republican than a Democrat though)
