So my PC suddenly crashed last week and I had to run on a back-up PC that was irritating as hell for a few days. I took my PC to work and gave it to our IT dept and told em to fix it. The guy there screwed with it for 2 days and could not get windows to load even after putting in a new hard drive. A partition was gone, it was bad. After loading windows on the new drive it still would not load, would not boot or see the drive.

Well I went out and spent about a grand and bought a new PC, 64 bit windows 7 and it's lightning fast. Getting used to this new operating system but it is nice.

Well I saved the old which was pretty damn fast, dual core Pentium, but did not have much hope for it. I figured I would see if my son could fix it who was coming home from college for thanksgiving. I told him about it over the phone and he said he would bring home his software. He is a computer science major graduating this year and he works fixing PC's for the university. He thinks he knows what he is doing but he's the last one I figured could fix it (he's fucked up more of my PC's than he's ever fixed).

He just came in my office after about 2 hours screwing with it and set it up and it works like a champ! The thing runs about as fast as my brand fucking new one! He said it would not take Windows XP but Vista Ultimate loaded fine. It's 64 bit like my new one so he also loaded the 64 bit compatible Office 2007 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook). He's got a book of software programs that is unbelievable! Boot disks for like 5 different versions of XP, 3 of Vista and 2 of Windows 7. Like every version of Microsoft office ever made and a friggin dozen other programs. I loaded both PC's up nicely.

I think he's finally learned something.

Come Monday I will be paying a visit to our IT dept.

I'm no computer expert, but I think I spotted the problem.
As a Democrat, I take solace in the fact that the Republicans have nominated the guy who lost the nomination to the guy who lost the presidency to the guy who is now the President.

I almost shed a tear over that. I was blown away the other night, literally stunned speechless, when my 2-year-old took off his own shoes. I never wanted time to stop so badly.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but it goes by thatfast. Last year, my eleven year old was five (or at least that's how it feels).

One day they are four and kicking a ball around the house, the next they are 22 and living on their own. It goes by too fast.

Great story Prag, I have two boys who I'm hoping are either computer experts or avoid them altogether.

Also Windows 7 and Vista's program discs are the boot discs.
