Spray comes in two forms, areosole and foam. The good stuff comes in a can that has a plastic button on the top you press to despense it, it's got a "saftey" of sorts, you have to unlock it to spray. I prefer the foam because it doesn't have the tendancy to spray back in your face when you try to apply it in to a wind like the mist does. An outfitters. There's a local store, I don't recall the name, they sell police gear like belts and boots, stuff for Fire/Rescue. If you can't find one in the phone book try calling your local PD to find out where they get their gear.

The effects are measured in Scoville Heat Units (SHU). There will be a label on the can that will tell you the amount, go for the highest one. There's a lot of junk out there. Oh, and OC spray has a shelf life too, look for an ex date.

Seriously, I think pepper spray is for pussies. Real men carry fire extinguishers around, not small cans. Might have a problem finding a purse that is big enough, though.
