    Anyone Here Like Science Fiction?

I was a Star Trek fan for decades though with Voyager and Enterprise my interest faded. Now I only like stuff I write myself.

As for the others, I like Transformers, Battletech, Babylon-5, Battlestar Galactica (original, hate the remake) and of course Star Wars.

I like books by Ben Bova, Jerry Pournelle, Lois McMaster Bujold, David Drake, and a number of others.

Any other science fiction fans here?

Actually, I prefer medieval literature and fiction of that kind! Futuristic stories are too distant! What makes them so attractive to you, science fiction?

I like sci-fi/fantasy -- member the old days when you used to stay the weekend at the sci-fi convention hotel and play Vampire? I loved that

I used to watch the original Star Trek series just a few years after it came out. I think I've seen every episode at least 30 times and I'm NOT exagerating. All things Star Trek are great IMO including ones a lot of Trekkies hate. Like Enterprise, and Resurection. Funny how you hate the remake of Battlestar...this is gonna sound sexist, and it's really just a coincidence, but I hate all the women characters especially Starbuck. Starbuck was not a mal adjusted homicidal sadistic chick in the original BSG. They tried way to hard to make women as tough as men in the remake. Plus everything is gray tones, that sucks. Babylon-5, one of the underated SciFi shows. Anything Star Wars is allways top shelf sci fi.

Why are you surprised I hate the remake of Battlestar Galactica?

    I like the original alot.

Sure it had lots of "70 ish" elements like the occasional cute robots and the kid (Boxey) but by the end of the season most of that had moved into the background.

Besides, I've my own ideas about a remake of Battlestar:Galactica.

I'm surprised you don't like the new BSG because most sci fi fans seem to like it. I am having to force myself to watch it hoping I'll get into it. My friends all rave about it. I do however think the way they film the battle/action sequences is original and pretty cool. The 70's show, Lorne Greene......they had way better stories. You thought they had a good chance to make it to Earth in the old ones. In the new series, every episode their hopes to get to Earth are permamently crushed and it's depressing.

I want to hear your own ideas about BSG, if you don't want to throw them out here I'll PM you my eamil.

Star Trek NG. Deep Space 9. Some Star Wars stuff. Friefly was cool for the short time it was on. Does Hitchhikers Guide count as Sci-Fi?

Hell YES Hitchhiker counts......and I'm ashamed of the fact that I forgot about Firefly. I guess because that's Joss I just lump it into Buffy/Angel land.

Hitchhiker was the best British humor movie since the immortal Monty Python series.
