Thread: My little girl changed her major

My daughter, Laci has changed her college major from Computer Networking to Nursing and I couldn't be happier! Good news is that her last year's credits all transfer. I'm psyched! She has talked about going beyond an RN and becoming a doctor. Be still my heart. One can only hope. But, RN sounds mighty good, too. She will be going to my alma mater, Rhode Island College. Makes a dad proud. She started on Wed. Just gloatin' folks.
If it weren't for Navy nurses, I wouldn't be here to annoy you all. Great calling.

That's a great carreer. We've been facing a Nursing shortage in this area that's bordering critical. She'll be well paid, if not properly appreceiated.

Thanks partner. Yeah, there are 300 spots open in the RN program and over 1800 applicants. I hope she gets accepted. Keep a good thought. I'll keep you posted.

What impresses me the most and makes me proud is that she has these variety of choices available to her and that she's not afraid to conquer whatever academic classes she will need to take to accomplish what she wants out of life.

*I hope my daughter keeps going and going in her educational endeavers; of course she's only 10 right now, but I've been encouraging her more and more every year and with her teachers and tutors and her Grandmother, (who's a teacher also), helping out, everything seems to be on course for her to succeed.

I have no doubt good buddy. It all comes from the parents. That assures her success.

She could become a nurse practicioner...not quite a doctor but not "just" a nurse...
