    OK, so im not big on this stuff, but can someone tell me what it means...?

    LIke I say I'm not a political activist, but Ive never quite gotten it straight: What does Left and Right wing mean, and what are the pros and cons of each?

    I see some people hold genuine disliking and prejudice against one or the other, and I know all political views are Center, Left or Right wing, but what does this mean? And Why does this matter?

    To me it means, how much government intervention do you want (or not want) on any given situation. Right being less, left being more. A person's position on what government's role should be on welfare, education, and healthcare are good ways to determine what side they lean on. That's just my opinion on it

    An example of Right-Wing is Facism and Left-Wing Socialism or Communism if that helps clear it up.
